ode to Sappho

] pale blue things
]
] the way the sky gets

of windswept
of deep cold
of desire sometimes cooling

]
] I hope you don’t think of
] me
]
] lured into love
]
] but there’s something violent happening

there’s a softness here
like you make me feel like lightning
but I don’t want that

]
] there’s edges here
]
] find and then love someone
] that’s all you ever do
]
] feel it like lightning

no one taught me a way
in which love was the most possible
I had to learn it in the darkness of rooms

] try to take a photo of the moon
] but it looks like nothing
] a bright spot among darkness
]
]
] the moon is a woman
] because I am gay for her

my moon is in Sagittarius
I channel the yearning
leaning down in the doorway
you stood there
a bright spot among darkness

]
] I read Sappho
] she tells me to become a voice
]
] so I do
] I am
